One in three people bank in the UK bank at this financial services provider- В¦a high calibre Assistant Manager is required to join the Group Finance Division in a Mainstream Compliance Role based in Bristol to offer professional level of support to senior tax staff.
On daily basis you will be guaranteeing corporate tax obligations of group companies minimising tax liabilities, compliance costs and penalties and assisting with tax advisory and planning initiatives alongside senior staff. Preparation of HMRC returns, arranging payment of quarterly and year end tax payments and full responsibility for maintaining general ledger accounts for corporation tax, deferred tax, monthly reconciliations and then action to clear differences are key aspects. There is a huge progression potential therefore management and assistants within the team is essential passing on knowledge and advice in your own specialist area.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills as well as an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines is necessary as well as an ability to show initiative and interest in keeping up to date with tax issues. You will gain exposure to SOX/SAO environment however prior experience is advantageous.
