Growing Insurer is looking to set-up a tax function for the very first time. You will be responsible for the set-up of the function being the principle point of contact for all tax matters across the business. Reporting into the FD this is a role with real variety and offers someone a great challenge.
The role will entail:
- Manage the UK corporation tax return process
- To be the central source of tax knowledge for the Group including an understanding of indirect taxes including IPT and VAT
- Liaise with external tax advisors on key issues
- Tax planning and risk management for the Group
- Manage relationship with HMRC
- Manage tax considerations for corporate transactions including transfer pricing
- Support the Senior Accounting Officer for tax reporting
- Provide tax support for ad hoc projects
- Keep up to date with new legislations and Finance Acts including assessing impact on the Group and ensuring compliance
Ideally you will be:
- Qualified accountant
- Tax experience with a Big 4 accounting firm or multinational company
- Excellent communication skills at all levels
- Ability to use own initiative and to work well alone and as part of a team
- Working knowledge of the standard Microsoft environment
- Insurance industry and knowledge of IFRS is advantageous but is not required
