An Internal Auditor is required for the London branch of a leading bank offering private investment and commercial financial services.
The overall objective is to assist in the planning and execution of high quality, independent and objective, risk-based assessments of the adequacy and effectiveness of controls by which risks are identified, managed and monitored.
Specific responsibilities will be to undertake a revolving programme of risk-based reviews in key functional areas of the bank, to ensure that significant risks are being identified, managed and monitored. The auditor will conduct value-added investigations and ad-hoc reviews in accordance with senior management requests and perform special studies, investigations or other services in matters of interest or concern to the audit committee.
The successful candidate will have strong internal auditing experience, ideally within banking but at least within the financial services sphere. Knowledge, exposure to, and experience of risk assessment, business analysis, planning, negotiating and influencing, and banking procedures will hold the candidate in high stead.
