This highly regarded independent firm seeks an experienced landed estates, trusts and private client specialist. This is a mixed compliance and advisory role with a slight bias towards compliance work initially, although an element of the role involves identifying tax planning opportunities. Your main responsibilities will include:
• Managing a portfolio of landed estates and trusts.
• Dealing with the compliance work for this portfolio.
• Giving capital tax planning advice with particular emphasis on CGT and IHT issues. This includes looking at succession planning, reviewing existing trust structures and planning around chattels.
• Acting as the first point of contact for your clients and managing the client relationship.
• Identifying tax planning opportunities.
• The management of junior colleagues.
You should be an ATT/CTA/ACA/STEP qualified private client specialist with proven expertise in dealing with landed estate and trust issues from either an accountancy or law firm background. You should also be a team player who has excellent verbal and written communication skills. Due to succession planning this role comes with career progression opportunities.
