With four offices and over 200 staff our client is one of the leading professional services firms in the South West.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious tax manager to have an influential role at a leading West Country accountants and financial advisers. Joining them as a Senior Manager / Director based in either Exeter, Shepton Mallet or Yeovil, you will be part of an evolving, progressive Tax Planning team. Tax planning will be at the forefront of your role working with both your own client portfolio and dealing with technical tax issues for clients of partners and other staff.
The Role
You will need to show a track record delivering excellence to your clients, and be committed to developing your own career and that of those around you. You will manage your own portfolio and be actively representing the practice in the local business community whilst developing new business opportunities.
Key duties include:
Providing tax solutions through knowledge of UK and international tax so clients can manage their tax affairs in the most effective way.
Corresponding and negotiating with appropriate tax authorities.
Building and managing junior team members, supervising and reviewing work, coaching and developing the team
Managing and growing a portfolio
Experience Required/Person Specification
* CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified ideally from an active larger firm
* Proven experience of building successful business relationships
* Up to date accounting and tax knowledge
* Excellent client handling and interpersonal skills
* High motivation, self starter
* Ability to spot and maximise opportunities (both tax and commercial)
