The Calgary PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP office is currently seeking tax, accounting or technical professionals to join their growing SR&ED team. Our firm's Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) practice has a solid presence in the marketplace and an enviable top-tier client list. We require SR&ED professionals to join our Calgary team and assist clients in various sectors.
Key Responsibilities
As a Manager of SR&ED, you will gain experience by:
- Assisting our clients in identifying SR&ED activities;
- Identifying eligibility for tax credits and other federal and provincial government assistance;
- Helping clients draft technical documents;
- Settling tax credit claims;
- Scoping out major projects or engagements;
- Presenting assignment deliverables to clients; and
- Organizing, preparing and clearly presenting information to others and responding to their questions;
- Working closely with VPs, CFOs, CEOs, etc;
- Obtaining exposure and understanding of client's business operations; and
- Varied industry activities across Oil and Gas, Manufacturing, Information Technology and Mining sectors.
Competencies Required
- Three to five years in the accounting environment or tax related field;
- A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ie: construction, electrical/computer, environmental, etc) with industry experience;
- An accounting designation with public practice or industry experience (working towards an accounting designation would be acceptable); would be considered an asset;
- Experience with the preparation of the SR&ED claims;
- Financial and/or science experience with SR&ED tax credit programs would be an asset;
- Good interviewing and analytical skills;
- Competent in using relevant computer software applications;
- Ability to work on a number of projects simultaneously; and
- Strong communication and organizational ability.
