This Big 4 firm is looking for a manager (or possibly senior manager) with HMRC experience in the FS arena. Joining this team you would be working in their funds team, undertaking a combination of general advisory and controversy. Promotion prospects are excellent.
Tax manager/senior manager job
As a manager in the funds team of this Big 4 firm you would be:
- Building and maintaining tax relationships with clients and provide high levels of client service
- Assisting in winning work by proactively managing existing clients and contributing to winning new clients.
- Managing the successful delivery of tax projects, ensuring technical excellence and practical/business driven approach taken
- Taking part in management of the team both in terms of strategy and operations and also through managing junior staff development and assignments
About you
You will have HMRC experience and, preferably, good experience of handling disputes with taxpayers. In addition, some experience in general funds work, and in partnership & individual taxation, would be preferable. You will also be willing to develop in those areas where you do not yet have experience.
You will:
- Be an experienced tax practitioner - with background as highlighted above
- Have FS industry and product knowledge (preferred but not essential)
- Have strong technical skills
- Have negotiation skills, be able to sustain opinion and handle challenges
- Be a team player with ability to create, sustain and lead effective teams
- Be client driven and strategically and commercially aware
- Be an excellent communicator in a range of situations both written and oral.
- Be enthusiastic
- ACA / CA / Tax Inspectors with full Technical Training course / Law qualification / CTA (or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA)
